I am running for the United States Congress seat in Colorado District 6. I am a native of Mentone, AL who moved almost 1500 miles across county to Aurora, CO to make a better life for myself and my fiancé, Michael. I have always found that it is the duty of each and every citizen to be interested in political affairs, because politics is VERY interested in us. You see, every area of the political world affects the everyday lives of each and every citizen in one way or another.
As a 27 year old who left college with almost $30,000 of student loan debt, as a tax payer who feels discouraged to find that many lawmakers would rather send innocent people into war than send them to college or help those in desperate need, as a renting resident who has grown very tired of the price gouging taking place in many rental agreements and basic necessities, as a worker who has suffered through a minimum wage that doesn’t fulfill its purpose of being a living wage, as a concerned citizen who feels that it is time for the 1% to pay its fair share in all facets, and as a man who has suffered the very real life struggles that the lowest of income face everyday; I feel that it is time for me to step up and make a difference, not just for myself and my loved ones, but for the lives of every American who barely survives on what necessities they can actually obtain while a very rich and powerful few find nothing less than padded comfort for themselves and many generations of posterity. I am not in the mindset of running for personal glory, as my original plan never held any thoughts of political office.
My campaign is meant to fight for those whose voices are not heard over the many billions of campaign dollars that flood the wallets of Congress and the Senate. It’s time for a change. It’s time for a political revolution. It’s time to bring the power back to the people! It’s time that the political world not be limited to those with money, and I will fight everyday to bring the voice of our government back to us all!
